THE NIGERIAN NAVY RECEIVES APPROVAL TO CONSTRUCT 850 HOUSING UNIT IN BADAGARY

The Nigerian Navy receives approval from the Lagos state government to begin construction of 850 housing units in badagary, Lagos State. This was stated on the 26 of August 2020, during the commissioning of five major projects at the Navy Estate Karshi, Abuja, by our Managing Director Commodore Gabriel Aligwe. This he said would go a long way to reducing National housing deficit and support the Federal Government’s plan to provide housing for all. He explained that there are also 10 ongoing projects in the estate which will be completed before December.

In his comments at the inauguration of the Navy Estate in Abuja, the Managing Director of NBCCL, Commodore GSM Aligwe, said the Navy Estate in Karshi was planned to be the most exceptional in Nigeria.

The Managing Director stated that “Under the guidance of the Chief of Naval Staff and the group managing director, the Naval Building and Construction Company Ltd began the completion and improvement of all infrastructures in the property and a number of the effects are the initiatives inaugurated today”. There are at least 10 parks and gardens, a comprehensive sports arena, an 18 hole golf club, medical centres, schools and a shopping centre in the estate.

Speaking during the projects commissioning ceremony, the President of the Naval Officers’ Wives Association (NOWA) Mrs Theresa Ibas, pointed out that the developments at Navy Estate Karshi are borne out of the need to better the lives of the community and naval personnel.

She said that the 5 apartment project will address the acute accommodation and space problem the school is facing and consequently improve the learning environment and motivate the staff and personnel to more effectively discharge their duties.
